Here’s a quick video of some of the activities we did in Costa Rica – the standard horseback riding, zip-lining and tubing trips. Facebook is annoying and won’t let you embed HD versions of videos, so if you want to view it in better quality – click here. But let’s be honest, I got these clips from the back of a horse, hanging from a zip-line and floating in a tube on a river during a vacation. Quality is not in abundance, but my little Panasonic TS-2 is indestructible – can’t recommend it enough.
These ice cubes took a lot longer to melt than I expected. In total, it took about 3.5 hours. I ended up shooting approximately 2400 still photos – a photo every 5 seconds. I put the photos in sequence using MPEG Streamclip at 15fps, and then doubled the speed of that video once in iMovie. The music is a cover of Modest Mouse’s Exit Does Not Exist performed by Sun Kil Moon from their album, Tiny Cities.
I just got back from a great fishing trip to Molson Lake Lodge in Manitoba, Canada. It was a blast, and we caught a lot of great fish. Every day, our guides would put together an amazing shore lunch for us, which included fries, onions, vegetables, beans and plenty of fish. These guys had it down to a science. I decided to snap a lot of pictures one day to capture the work that these four guides put forth to feed us each day. This is my first time lapse photography attempt – definitely a lot of fun, and more to come.
I opened a Vimeo account this weekend, and I also finished a short video from our trip to the Final Four in Indianapolis. I couldn’t have asked for a more exciting championship game, with Butler being led by Brad Stevens – a former Zionsville Eagle. I recorded pieces of this video with my 5D Mark II – using my f/2.8 24-70mm. Most of the pictures were taken with the same lens, with the exception of a few I took with my f/2.8 15mm fisheye. I don’t shoot much video with my 5D, but I was glad I caught the last seconds of this game. It’s taken me about a month, but… better late than never. I posted an HD-quality version of the video on YouTube (click here) and on Vimeo (click here) – so you can see them both there. Without a Vimeo Plus account, HD embedding is disabled, so we will see what this looks like when I put it within the post. Enjoy.
