We spent a beautiful weekend in The Highlands, NC for a wedding at the end of July. The wedding was fabulous and Old Edwards Inn is absolutely amazing. It was probably a bit too fancy for our croquet games we played in their lawn (more pics of that later!).

After the Duke vs. Wake Forest game on Sunday night, we took a long stroll around campus and even drove over to East Campus. It had been raining all day, and the fog / overcast weather gave the sky a dense feeling against the campus buildings and the Chapel. The sky definitely made for some great shots.
We ran into a photographer who had the same idea – he was roaming around the Chapel snapping a few pictures. Shane was a great guy, and we enjoyed our brief chat with him. You can find he and his wife at their site: Kit Kirk Photography. (Be sure to click below this picture to see more photos)

It rained all day Sunday (until our walk after the game). Luckily, we had great weather on Saturday and Monday. We stopped into Perkins Library, the Bookstore, the Chapel and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. I had to pull an all-nighter and drink a couple Red Bulls (for old times’ sake) just to get myself to walk by the engineering buildings too.
