Wednesday, January 20th - Campus Food: Armadillo Grill & Pauly Dogs
When we landed on Friday night in Durham, the only place to eat on campus was Armadillo Grill… which was perfect, because we were craving it. Unfortunately, there were hardly any students there at 1AM. Come to think of it, once they took beer off of ‘points’, I don’t remember when I was ever there at 1AM as a student. Regardless, the food was so good… we had lunch at Dillo again on Monday before leaving town.
We spent Saturday wandering the campus. After a lot of walking, we were ready for a healthy lunch at Pauly Dogs… fresh with extra Old Bay seasoning. DJ, the man operating the new sophisticated stand, wasn’t even around five years ago when Pauly Dogs was simply a wheeled cart, an umbrella and Pauly himself. Today, the wheeled cart is reserved for the late-night hours.

Wednesday, January 20th - D-U-K-E
I was able to spend the long MLK weekend in Durham. Back in college, I never had a camera with me, and it was very easy to take the beautiful campus for granted. This time, I took way too many pictures, and I realized how lucky I was for four years. I will slowly be posting these photos over the next few days – shots of West Campus, the Chapel, East Campus, Armadillo Grill, K-ville, Cameron, Wallace Wade (even Crazy Towel Guy)… all the scenes that make Duke so uniquely Duke.
