Middle Brother is composed of members from Deer Tick, Dawes and Delta Spirit – combining a super group of awesome sounding rock music. When you mix in opening sets from the full Deer Tick and Dawes bands, with a side of Jonny Corndawg, this Middle Brother tour is an off the charts party. Every time Delta Spirit comes to Chicago, they play their hearts out. I know they do it at every stop on their tours, and that’s what makes it even more impressive – how Matt Vasquez even has functioning vocal chords after all these days on the road… we will never know.
Metro seems to be the preferred stop for these guys – their last visit included a stop here (click to see those photos). Just like last time, there was no photo pit up front. So, rather than deal with the crowd, I decided to shoot from a slightly different angle – the balcony. This was the first time I’ve shot a show from the balcony, and it was actually pretty fun.
