Tuesday, November 9th - More to come…
I’m working on a new video, wholly dedicated to John Rapp’s dance moves. A few months ago, John Rapp showed off some of his swagger at a wedding in St. Louis. Luckily, I captured some of it on film, and as he later said – “Damn it feels good to be a gangster”. Then in September, guests at another wedding were graced with his presence and moves. I’m still trying to put together the footage from this latest display of fancy footwork, but it will be sufficiently embarrassing when it’s complete. In the meantime, since I had previously only posted this on Facebook, enjoy the clips from the Dunlap / Miller wedding in St. Louis – quality is bad outside of Facebook, but oh well.
Friday, November 5th - Fotos From Fargo
I’m not going to knock on Fargo at all. My parents once lived there, and some great family friends were recently married right downtown. It’s a great town with a lot of fun stuff going on – including a massive bar crawl the day of the wedding. How and why we completed the bar crawl and attended the wedding / reception is beyond me… actually, I do know… it was all my dad’s idea. Once he gets an idea in his head, there is not stopping him.
We had a blast though, and there is proof below that we drank our drinks and got our stamps at each and every bar on the Oktoberfest Fargo circuit. The locals were out in full force. North Dakotans are not only absurdly friendly, but also an extremely witty people. Just check out the names of their stadiums and bars. What’s not to like about people who dress up as gorillas and ride around town on bicycles?

Thursday, November 4th - Carneros Inn
A month ago today, we spent an evening in Napa Valley at Carneros Inn. In a couple of days, I will be at a Nascar race in Texas. Talk about extremes.

Wednesday, November 3rd - Seattle Wedding
A couple great friends got married in Seattle several weeks ago, and it was a wonderful ceremony and reception. I decided to use an old Nikon FE to shoot a couple rolls of film. It was tough, and these photos don’t do the celebration justice. It’s pretty hard to shoot without a flash on an old 1970′s camera using ISO 800 film and a 50mm lens wide open at f/1.2… whew. You realize how lucky you are to go back home and use a 5d Mark II. I decided to scan in the sprockets cause I like it that way, but it can definitely be a bit too much.
