I didn’t take many pictures at Lollapalooza. I carried one of my little cameras around a lot, but didn’t seem to be into taking photos. I think this could have had something to do with the heat and the booze… but mostly the booze. I took so much stupid, incoherent video during the aftershows that when I was presented with a great photo opportunity on Sunday night (Matt Beringer of The National came right up to me during Mr. November), I was unable to capture a single good picture thanks to a full memory card. I’m stupid.

We spent a beautiful weekend in The Highlands, NC for a wedding at the end of July. The wedding was fabulous and Old Edwards Inn is absolutely amazing. It was probably a bit too fancy for our croquet games we played in their lawn (more pics of that later!).

As the festival season dies down in Chicago, it is a reminder that I was unable to get a photo pass to either Pitchfork or Lollapalooza. In all honesty, I didn’t try hard enough. The daily hustle and bustle got in the way of my efforts. And more importantly, no one asked me to take photos at these festivals. Sad.
I took some anyway… just not of the bands. Sad.

We took a trip up north – about 300 miles north of Winnipeg – to Molson Lake Lodge in Manitoba, Canada. The lodge was amazing and included great food and amazing fishing guides every day. The lodge is the only residence on the entire lake, which is over 250,000 acres of crystal clear water. We ended up fishing four days and had great weather almost every day. This is where I’d typically embellish on the fish we caught, but I guess I can’t do that when I follow up the story with pictures…

Only a couple of months later… I’m finally getting around to posting a lot of pictures from the last few months. I spent about 36 hours in Nantucket, before I had to take off for fishing in Canada (Shore Lunch video can be seen here). It was my first time in Nantucket, and it was too short. I can’t wait to spend more time there soon. Here are some of my favorites:

A couple friends wanted me to let me take some photos before their upcoming wedding. I’ve never tried to actually take pictures of people in various posed, instructed settings – normally I like to take candid photos of friends around town or at events. This was a fun time though. We had great weather and even though Jon had a boot / cast on his foot, we managed to make stops at the Garfield Park Conservatory Gardens, Kinzie Street Bridge, Lake Street Bridge, Lasalle Street and the Adler Planetarium. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon. More photos are over in the Flickr set and below. Enjoy guys.
