Friday, January 22nd - Around Campus: Night
After the Duke vs. Wake Forest game on Sunday night, we took a long stroll around campus and even drove over to East Campus. It had been raining all day, and the fog / overcast weather gave the sky a dense feeling against the campus buildings and the Chapel. The sky definitely made for some great shots.
We ran into a photographer who had the same idea – he was roaming around the Chapel snapping a few pictures. Shane was a great guy, and we enjoyed our brief chat with him. You can find he and his wife at their site: Kit Kirk Photography. (Be sure to click below this picture to see more photos)

Friday, January 22nd - Around Campus: Day
It rained all day Sunday (until our walk after the game). Luckily, we had great weather on Saturday and Monday. We stopped into Perkins Library, the Bookstore, the Chapel and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. I had to pull an all-nighter and drink a couple Red Bulls (for old times’ sake) just to get myself to walk by the engineering buildings too. Wednesday, January 20th - Campus Food: Armadillo Grill & Pauly Dogs
When we landed on Friday night in Durham, the only place to eat on campus was Armadillo Grill… which was perfect, because we were craving it. Unfortunately, there were hardly any students there at 1AM. Come to think of it, once they took beer off of ‘points’, I don’t remember when I was ever there at 1AM as a student. Regardless, the food was so good… we had lunch at Dillo again on Monday before leaving town.
We spent Saturday wandering the campus. After a lot of walking, we were ready for a healthy lunch at Pauly Dogs… fresh with extra Old Bay seasoning. DJ, the man operating the new sophisticated stand, wasn’t even around five years ago when Pauly Dogs was simply a wheeled cart, an umbrella and Pauly himself. Today, the wheeled cart is reserved for the late-night hours.
